After School Dance Program

Wednesdays for Pre-K and Kindergarten

Thursdays for Grades 1, 2 and 3

At ESTIA, after school is the best part of your child's day. Two dance classes, a small group of peers, and teachers who are working professional dancers. We handle the pickup from school so you can handle everything else.

We know what afternoons look like for families in Williamsburg. There is always somewhere to be and not quite enough time to get there.

ESTIA's After School Program was built with that in mind.

Your child is walked from Brooklyn Arbor, one block from our studio, directly to ESTIA. From there, they spend three hours in Ballet and Modern/Contemporary dance with teachers who genuinely care about what they are learning, not just that they showed up.

Groups are capped at 10 students so every child is seen, encouraged, and developed as an individual.

At the end of each season, we open our doors to families for an in-studio showing of the work your child has been building. We close every season this way because we believe families deserve to see what their child is capable of.

We currently offer school pickup from Brooklyn Arbor. More schools are being added for Fall 2026.

If your child attends a different nearby school, reach out and we will let you know when your school is included.

A place where your child grows, and you can breathe.

Why families choose ESTIA

We center learning and joy rather than pressure, over-preparation, or expensive recital culture. Young dancers learn technique in intimate groups, building confidence, body awareness, skill, and creative curiosity without the distractions or costs of performance-focused programs.

Here is what makes this program different from others in the neighborhood:

  1. Teachers who are working professionals.

Every instructor at ESTIA is an active professional dancer, performing and contributing to the dance community outside the studio. That experience and passion comes into the room with your child every session.

  2. Groups of no more than 10 students.

This is a deliberate choice. Small groups make it possible for every child to receive individual attention, build real friendships, and develop at their own pace. Your child is never just another student in the room.

  3. Two styles, every session.

Ballet builds technical foundation, strength and precision. Modern/Contemporary opens up expression, creativity and freedom. Your child works in both every week, giving them a well-rounded movement education that transfers far beyond the studio.

  4. A family showcase at the end of every season.

At the end of every season, we open our doors to families for a free showing of the work the group has built together. It is one of our favorite moments of the season and one of the things that makes ESTIA feel different from the programs around us.

  5. One home for the whole family.

While your child is in the program, you have access to ESTIA's full adult schedule, including dance classes, fitness, and personal training. Movement becomes something your family shares, not something you drop off and wait for.

What families are saying

I was really struggling to help my daughter start a new hobby, she was scared and hesitant to try anything, even though she clearly loved dancing at home. Every time music played, she would start moving, but she refused to join a class. Everything changed when I took her to Lydia’s Creative Movement & Ballet Fundamentals. From the very first class, she lit up. She started asking me to take her multiple times a week, and she even told me she wants to be like Lydia when she grows up. Her dance skills have improved surprisingly fast over the last couple of months. She’s now doing movements that look genuinely professional, at least to me as a not-very-dance-educated dad! More importantly, she’s confident, happy, and excited to learn. Totally recommended. Thank you, Lydia, for inspiring her and giving her such a beautiful start in dance!

Parent Review

Lydia has been teaching dance to my girls (6 and 8) for the last two years, and she’s just wonderful. They adore her, they’ve grown so much, and every week I see how focused and excited they are in her class. We feel really lucky to have her as their teacher and are looking forward to her new space to host their classes.

Program Basics

  • Our groups are small by design, with a maximum of 10 students per cohort. Every instructor is a working professional dancer. We focus on building technique across two styles each session, and we keep costs simple with no costume fees or recital charges. At the end of each season, families come in for a free in-studio showcase.

  • Ballet and Modern/Contemporary dance, both taught every session.

  • Yes. We pick up from Brooklyn Arbor at dismissal and walk students to the studio. More schools are being added for Fall 2026. If your child attends a nearby school not yet on our list, email us and we will be in touch when your school is added.

    • For Ballet: form-fitted clothes or a leotard, tights, ballet shoes or non-slip socks, and a water bottle.

    • For Contemporary: comfortable clothes, socks or bare feet, and a water bottle. Hair should be pulled back. Pack a snack from home, they will be hungry when they arrive.

  • Yes. We close every season by opening our doors to families for an in-studio showing of the work the students have built together. Families are invited in to watch. There is nothing to purchase and nothing to prepare for.

Logistics

  • Drop-off is open between 2:30 and 3:30pm. Class begins promptly at 3:30pm. Students on pickup will arrive with our team in time for the full routine.

  • Parent pickup is flexible between 5:00 and 5:30pm. Students cool down, change and spend time with classmates while they wait.

  • Each group is capped at 10 students. This is intentional. Small groups mean more individual attention, stronger technique, and a tighter community.

  • We do not offer refunds. If you would like to get a feel for ESTIA before committing to the program, we recommend booking a drop-in dance class first so your child can meet the teachers and try a class before enrolling.
